This is our guest home that we built in the area that we once had our "Chicken Coop". It is 500 sq ft. on a rustic, yet unique property in Arroyo Grande on the Central Coast of California. It is surrounded by beautiful Oak trees and green pastures. Casa de Alvarez is next to the famous, Varian Arabians horse ranch, that my mom has managed for 37 years & I work in the office. I can arrange an appointment for you to walk the beautiful grounds, visit and read Sheila Varian's history wall in her Show Barn, and see the horses & foals grazing in the pastures.
This guest home comfortably fits 2 adults or 2 adults with children as the 3rd & 4th guests. The air mattress is intended for children. It’s a 1br with a queen bed, full kitchen and bath/shower. The couch is not a sleeper sofa.
We have horses nearby at Varian Arabians. Koi ponds. Friendly dogs that love attention. Beautiful scenery with many colorful flowers and succulent, large private deck with patio table and private BBQ. Large gas firepit with chairs to enjoy in the evenings. Roku TV in the living room.
Guest are welcome to walk to the upper lawn area at our home and to see the koi ponds and facade saloon front stage that we use for events. Obviously this is our personal property with our private residences, so just keep that into consideration, especially with children. You can walk to lower lawn by the entrance and in the pastures surrounding The Coop with your dog, we appreciate you pick up after them. We also have RV guests so being considerate of them is appreciated as well.
Casa de Alvarez is our family compound with 4 private residences on the property.
We are 10-15 minutes south of San Luis Obispo airport and downtown SLO. And only 10-12 min from Pismo Beach, Shell Beach, Avila Beach. Lopez Lake is also a quick drive. We are about 2 1/2 miles from the historic Village of Arroyo Grande and close to many beautiful wineries in the Edna Valley or a quick 40 min drive over the Cuesta grade to Paso Robles wine country.
From Corbett Canyon, you will see our large windmill, red Farm All tractor and 1955 vintage green flatbed truck at the entrance of our driveway. If you’re coming from Arroyo Grande, we are 2.4 miles down on the left side. Once you enter thru gate to our property, you will need to take a left into the first driveway and go around the back side of the RV spots to the south side of The Coop to park in its own designated driveway. There are signs directing you to this area.
